Step 1: In a medium sized bowl, Add the Bean flour, Kuka powder - Mix to incorporate Step 2: In a separate bowl, dissolve the potash in a cup of water. Gently add the potash water into the dry ingredients and mix till you get a smooth sticky/stretchy paste - Set aside Step 3: In a medium sized pot, heat some water up till it starts to boil and "Bubble". Scoop the bean paste with your hand and drop the paste into the boiling water a little at a time till the batter is used up. Step 4: Leave to boil for 12-15 minutes till it firms up Step 5: To serve, drain out the water and place the danwake in a bowl. Drizzle a little vegetable oil, Yaji (ground pepper), crushed seasoning cube, salt over it and mix....Enjoy! - Danwake is a meal traditionally made with bean flour BUT there is a variation of this meal made with a combination of bean flour and cassava flour.
- To Prevent it from sticking together after boiling, run it through cold water.
