If you were at the maiden edition of the GTB food & drink fair in 2016, you’d definitely know you can’t miss this. There was lots to eat, drink and also lots of people to mingle with. Now as usual, come April 30th and 1st of May, Lagosians will be treated to the finest of Nigerian and intercontinental cuisine as all roads lead to Oniru, Victoria Island.
The event which is designed to showcase Nigeria’s emerging food industry as well as offer a wide variety of cuisines, will be headlined by local & international chefs. The GTB Food & Drink Fair will also feature a series of cooking Master Classes covering the latest culinary trends. 1. G Garvin
Acclaimed Chef, Cookbook Author, Television Host, James Beard Nominee and Philanthropist, Gerry Garvin will be at the GTBank Food and Drink Fair holding this April 30 and May 1, 2017. Chef Garvin launched his culinary career in his hometown, Atlanta, Georgia, at the Ritz Carlton-Downtown as the youngest line cook in the gourmet dining room. He opened his signature restaurant, G Garvin’s, where he continued to cater to and host high profile dinners for clients ranging from Former President Bill Clinton, to Halle Berry. Chef Garvin expanded his brand by making a name for himself on several popular television shows including Road Trip with G Garvin, which is hosted on the Food Network. At the GTBank Food and Drink Fair, Chef Garvin will display, live to the audience, the amazing culinary skills which have made him a favorite among food lovers around the world.

2: Ronke Edoho
Ronke works as a Chartered Accountant during the day and a food blogger every other time. She is also a Certified Nutritionist and Clinical Weight Loss specialist and the author of the cookbook, Lose It Nigerian. In 2011, Ronke started the 9jafoodie blog to celebrate the rich diversity of Nigerian food and to improve wellbeing through better nutrition by providing easy-to-follow wholesome recipes. On the 30th of April and 1st of May 2017, Ronke Edoho will be at the GTBank Food and Drink Fair to shed light on the unknown and underappreciated riches of traditional Nigerian cuisine.

3. Jehan Powell
International food blogger, Jehan Powell will be at The GTBank Food and Drink Fair holding on April 30 and May 1, 2017 to share her experience as a passionate culinary adventurist. Originally from Guyana, she created jehancancook.com after discovering a lack of online resources that feature authentic recipes from her homeland. Today, Jehan shares the rich cuisine of the Caribbean on her blog, which has resulted in several successful partnerships with brands such as Essence Magazine, Coca Cola, Wolf Gourmet and many more. At the GTBank Food and Drink Fair, she will lead a Masterclass on recipe development, writing and photography in food blogging.

4. Lerato Umah-Shaylor
Renowned food writer, TV chef and pop-up restaurateur, Lerato Umah-Shaylor, has been confirmed to headline of the MasterClasses at the 2017 GTBank Food and Drink Fair. Best known for her wholesome and contemporary African cooking, Chef Lerato combines local and seasonal ingredients from across the globe with authentic African foods and spices, challenging the perception that African food is too niche to be embraced by different cultures. Her pop-up restaurants in London & Brighton have taken the food world by storm, attracting features from the likes of the BBC and London Evening Standard. On April 30th @ 4:15pm, Chef Lerato will be at the GTBank Food and Drink Fair, where she will share recipes and ideas that celebrate global African cuisine.

5. Nkesi Enyioha
Seasoned chef and owner of the HSE Café, Nkesi Enyioha will bring her wealth of culinary experience to the GTBank Food and Drink Fair. An alumnus of the Ashburton Cookery School in the United Kingdom, Chef Nskesi is widely admired for her fusion of European techniques with the bold flavors of Africa and Asia. On May 1, 2017 @ 11:00am, Chef Nkesi will host a Masterclass at the GTBank Food and Drink Fair, where she will showcase her culinary style and share her passion for food making.

6: Chef Raphael Duntoye
Critically acclaimed and globally renowned Chef, Raphael Duntoye is coming to Food and Drink Fair, holding on the 30th of April and 1st of May, 2017.
Raphael Duntoye veered off the course of his Engineering career in 1995 to follow his life-long passion for food and cooking. He joined Butlers Wharf Chef School and is today a Master of French Cuisines at La Petite Maison. This protégé of Pierre Koffman has a worldwide culinary pedigree, evidenced by his elevated position at La Petite Maison’s chain of restaurants spanning the UK, USA, and the UAE. It’s been over 10 years since he started his own kitchen in Mayfair and created his defining menu.

7: Kevin Curry
Famous food and fitness expert, Kevin Curry is bringing his expert culinary skills and healthy eating tips to The GTBank Food and Drink Fair, holding on April 30 and May 1, 2017.
An alumnus of Harvard University and the founder of “FitMenCook”, an online platform promoting fitness and healthy cooking habits to millions of online subscribers, Kevin is a discoverer and promoter of diets that are not only healthy but audaciously tasty as well. By developing an inexpensive kitchen-gym regimen and achieving personal success, Kevin has become an inspiration and authority in creating tasty food alternatives. 8: Tolu Erogbogbo
At the age of 21 Chef Eros, real name Tolu Erogbogbo, already owned a restaurant, but his journey in the food industry would not stop there. He is the founder and CEO of Cookie Jar Bakery, and also the Executive Chef at Eros & Gourmet Foods. Widely admired for his passion for quality food and mastery of the culinary arts, Chef Tolu is currently the West African Chef Ambassador for German home appliance brand, “Miele.” His recently launched breakfast service, Breakfast at Eros (BAE), continues to grow in popularity among a cosmopolitan audience of food lovers.

9. Abiola Akanji
Popularly known by food lovers as Chef Stone, Abiola’s talent for food making has been evident since his childhood, and through his time at the French Culinary Institute and International Culinary Education Centre, both in New York, he has honed his skill to become the chef’s chef. Abiola owns The Red Dish Culinary School, one of the most reputable culinary schools in Nigeria with over a thousand graduates since its inception.

10. Benedict Okuzu
Though African and proud, Chef Benedict is a custodian of Italian Cuisines. Having grown up in the ancient city of Florence, his career as a Chef, which began in 2013, has sought to preserve and promote the balance, freshness and simplicity with which Italians approach food.
His mantle of authority in the kitchen was handed him by two great institutions: le Cordon Bleu Firenze (Scuola d’arte Culinaria Italiana), and Carpigiani Gelato University, Bologna.
Chef Benedict will be at the GTBank Food and Drink Fair on the 1st of May, 2017 @ 2:30 pm to guide participants into the historical realms of Italian Culinary Art.

11: Brian Malarkey
Award-winning chef, restaurateur, author and TV personality, Chef Brian Malarkey will be at the GTBank Food and Drink Fair holding on April 30th and May 1st, 2017. Passionate about food and cooking since a very early age, Chef Brian has created more than a dozen wildly successful restaurants across the United States, two of which are on Open Table’s list of the “Top 100 Hot Spots in America”.
