Homemade Irish Cream Recipe

Starting the week with this boozy drink and It’s been a long time coming! I’m a real lover of sweet liqueurs and one of my favorite is Irish cream. If i were to describe why i love it i’d say i love it because of the smooth creamy taste especially when its really chilled. I really love the store bought versions but i figured i could get more for the price of one in terms of quantity and quality if i made it at home and i definitely love the result. Plus, with the homemade version, i get to determine how sweet, creamy and alcoholic the drink would be.
You could simply enjoy it at home, serve it at a party or give this out as a gift for on a special day. Simply buy empty bottles, sterilize them, fill them up with Irish cream and decorate with fancy ribbons or nice tags to go with the occasion.
Irish cream is a tasty creamy liqueur which is made by combining cream, whisky, coffee and a few other ingredients. It’s usually served on the rocks (undiluted with ice cubes). For the recipe below, you could scale it down to your preference by either adding more or less of the ingredients to suit your taste.

Directions:::

Step 1: In a blender, combine the heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk, Irish whiskey, instant coffee granules, vanilla essence, almond essence. Turn on the blender and blend for about 30 seconds on high.

Step 2: Pour in a glass jar or bottle and seal tightly. Shake well before serving.

Please note that when you mix cream with whiskey and leave it to sit for a while, it tends to separate but that’s quite normal. Just leave it to sit in the refrigerator overnight then shake very well the next day and you’re good to go. The whiskey tends to dissolve the cream once left to sit for a while.
