Sometimes, i find eating raw fruits or vegetables daily really hard to keep up with but this could be accomplished easily with a quick glass of fruit or vegetable juice. One good way of enjoying the benefits from a wide variety of fruits or vegetables that i might not enjoy eating whole is by juicing. Taking a glass of fresh juice in the morning (on an empty stomach and alone) 1-2 hours before a meal is not only refreshing but also healthy. The nutrients will be absorbed more easily and and it doesn’t have other food which would interfere with the body’s cleansing. When juicing, try to keep some of the pulp. Not only does it have healthy fiber, but it can help fill you up. You may not need a juicing machine to make juice. You can use a blender as shown below for most whole fruits or vegetables to keep the fiber. if it becomes too thick add some water.
• Prep time: 10 mins
• Serves: 2
• Misc: Serve chilled
Kitchen Notes:::
• If you work out or do sporting activities regularly, it’s best to consume fruits before doing so to keep your energy level up and also avoid the sensation of a full stomach.
• To make sure your fruit or vegetable juice is well preserved, put your juice in a glass jar with an airtight lid and fill it up to the very top. There should be a minimum amount of air in the jar as the oxygen in air (air is about 20 percent oxygen) will “oxidize” and damage the juice.
• Immediately store it in the fridge and consume it when you are ready. It is best to drink it as soon as possible and in any case within 24 hours of juicing.
