I’ve always liked the idea of cup noodles. The instant gratification you get from the consumption of the content within one cup is undeniable.
All you need to do is just add hot water into the cup, wait or 3 minutes and your noodle soup is ready. The fact that you could go from hungry to satisfied in just 3 minutes is a record innovation. The Nissin cup noddle innovation was created by a japanese manufacturer known as Momofuku Ando in 1971 when he saw the need for instant noodles on the go. It also comes with different designs and contents.
These Cup Noodles are not for sale usually in Nigeria and to be frank, i only stumbled on it by chance. The seller just imported a truck load of goodies and this came as part of the haul. I found only the Ramen Noodle Soup With Shrimp i learnt there are other varieties.
The Cup Noodles comes packaged in a foam container paper cup with a peel off lid. The Outer paper label comes with the instructions and Nutritional facts with NO MSG boldly written on the body.
Look at the content within this pack! Only two pieces of shrimp, the seasoning and dried vegetable sprinkles within. When hot water was added, the noodles steeped perfectly within the said time frame but the broth was very bland. The Vegetables and two pieces of dehydrated shrimp turned out okay once they got re-hydrated.
PROS
– It takes about 3 minutes to prepare
– It’s portable to carry around
– It’s ideal for work lunch, camping & boarding house quick hunger fixes
CONS
– It’s meant to be seafood right? Why is there only two pieces of extremely dried shrimp in it
I got 3 cups at 250 Naira each
I did enjoy the noodle soup although it wasn’t really as spicy as the everyday noodles we are used to. My only complaint was that i could only find two pieces of shrimp within. I really enjoyed this one though. I’d give it a 3.5 out of 5.0 stars.
