Hot Banga Turkey Wings

Banga Soup Recipe (Niger-Delta Style Palm nut soup) is one delicacy that is enjoyed by many and one of the secrets to making the authentic Banga soup is the use of Banga spice which is a combination of different types of indigenous spices and herbs. But have you ever tried adding Banga spice to other meals such as your proteins? Well, I did and the result is mind-blowing. It takes whatever it’s added to to a whole new level of awesomeness. Now, this is one recipe you’ll definitely love. Here’s how it was made. 

Ingredients You’ll Need In Making Hot Banga Turkey Wings :::

For this recipe, you’ll need; 

Tomapep puree, Turkey (I used wings), Onion, Seasoning, Curry powder, Banga Seasoning ( I used nini spicy Banga seasoning), Hot pepper ( i used nini spicy Hot pepper ), Salt – To taste, Oil (For deep frying), green bell pepper. 

Directions:::

Step 1: Rinse the turkey and place in an empty pot. Add the chopped onion, crushed seasoning, curry powder, salt to taste and hot pepper. Give it a good mix to combine and let it cook on medium heat for 10 minutes till it gives off its juice. Add some water, just enough to cover the meat in the pot and leave to cook for 20 minutes. 

Step 2: Heat up the oil in an empty pan and fry the cooked turkey wings till golden brown. Set the wings aside. 

Step 3: Reduce the oil in the pot leaving just a little. Pour the tomapep puree into the pan and add the Banga spice, seasoning and salt. Leave to fry in oil for about 10 minutes, till the oil settles on top. Add the fried turkey wings and mix together. 

Step 4: Add sliced green bell pepper and onion and leave to simmer on low heat for 1 minute. 

Serve!

  • Seasoning Cubes, crushed
  • 1 tsp. Curry powder
  • 1 tbsp. Banga Seasoning ( I used nini spicy Banga seasoning)
  • 1 tbsp. Hot pepper ( i used nini spicy Hot pepper )
  • Salt - To taste
  • Oil (For deep frying)
  • 1 large green bell pepper (Garnish)
