Semolina is an Italian word derived from the name “semola” meaning Bran. This is also derived from the Latin word “simila“, meaning ‘Flour’. Semolina is made from a specie of hard wheat known as “Durum” which means “Hard” in English. This same wheat is the type used in the production of spaghetti, macaroni or even couscous. The main point here is, semolina is “Flour” and can be used in cooking in general. Using my no-fail pot baking method, I’ve previously made a nice semolina cake with it in the past and it turned out amazing and in this post, I’d also show you how to also use a frying pan to bake.
For these easy semolina cookies, you’d need no oven. You could use an oven but to make it really simple, we’d be using two other methods: The pan baking and the pot baking methods.
