When it comes to the Nigerian “swallow”, there are different ways in which they could be presented and there’s no limit to the shapes you could get. You could use the different methods below for any type of swallow such as; Pounded yam, wheatmeal swallow, Semolina/Semovita, Fufu/Akpu, Amala, Cornmeal e.t.c. For this tutorial, i made use of the yellow garri swallow (Yellow Eba) since Garri/Eba is seen as the king of “swallows”, correct me if i’m wrong :).
Things needed :
• Transparent nylon
• Rolling pin
• Flat surface
• Knife/Scissors
• Swallow Scoop
• Rolling pin

#Shape 1: Rolled Eba/Garri
Procedure:
Step 1: Place the swallow with the swallow scoop in the Transparent nylon making sure it’s aligned at one edge of the nylon to form a rectangle.
Step 2: With the rolling pin, roll it out on the flat surface
Step 3: With a Scissors, Cut Open the Transparent nylon and gently use the nylon to fold the swallow till you get to the edge.
And that’s how to get your rolled garri.
#Shape 2: Eba/Garri Ball Shape
Procedure:
Step 1: Divide the transparent nylon into two. Scoop the swallow into the transparent nylon
Step 2: Close up the swallow with the nylon and mold to form a round ball-like shape.
#Shape 3: Garri/Eba Ball Pyramid
Procedure:
Simply wet your hands and roll the swallow into small balls. This is suitable for little kids that cannot roll “swallow” themselves
