Sometimes i forget how much i love green smoothies. Is it just me or does green signify “healthy” and “natural”. i think part of the appeal is how super easy it is to make this smoothie. But seriously, i love the flavor especially with the fact that it’s packed with a great source of heart healthy fats, nutrients, vitamins, potassium, protein and fiber. I know eating fruits whole is good but taking it as a smoothie combined with other things is pretty much as good if not tastier. it’s definitely a win win if you ask me. Now, combining banana with avocado and parsley is what gives this drink it’s sweet taste but not overly. Here’s how to to make this super easy smoothie.

Bananas turn black whenever I blend them. Do you know why this happens? I'll try this recipe and see since it looks so good but how do I blend my bananas without them turning black or having some kind of after taste?

Hi Adaeze, This is due to oxidation and it happens when banana is exposed to air. Same thing happens to apples also. Bananas contain an enzyme called polyphenol oxidase that reacts with oxygen in the atmosphere and turns it brown when exposed.
