Hi lovelies!
Hope you had a wonderful Easter celebration. I can’t believe I went off radar leaving y’all behind for more than a week to spend Easter in the east…Jeezzz!!! Feels like a month to me. I had lots of Easter meal recipes i intended sharing with you guys but I had to jet off to Uru Umudim Nnewi, Anambra state to cover my friend’s Igba-nkwu ceremony Paparazzi Style…lol!.
The gorgeous Bride, Barrister Nneka Chukwuma, and the handsome groom, Engr. Chukwudi Nwogu had the first part of their Nuptial Journey at the Chukwuma’s Country home on 2nd April, 2013. Nneka Chukwuma is the daughter of the prominent business mogul, Former vice chairman of the Nigerian football Association, NFA and Proprietor of Gabros International FC of Nnewi, Chief Gabriel Chukwuma and Chukwudi is the Son of the highly Acclaimed Engr/Contractor Chief Nwogu.
The Bride’s flawless Makeup was done by the talented Makeup Artist >>
<< who also doubles as the bride’s sister. The venue was packed with lots of Notable Personalities too numerous to mention.
Igba-Nkwu Nwannyi “Wine carrying Ceremony” is the Traditional marriage ceremony and climax of Marriage in Igbo Culture. It’s usually held in the home of the bride. On the Wedding day, the bride’s father gives the bride a cup of wine to go look for her husband and feed him the wine while on her knees. This segment is called the “Wine Carrying”. Thereafter, She is officially handed over to her husband after the final blessing has been given. The little dancers and Asoebi’s (Unmarried Colleagues) accompany the bride almost throughout the occasion….Kinda like Bridesmaids.
