To commemorate World Food Day, First Bank of Nigeria is set to hold a street food fair that celebrates the art of food photography tagged “Food is Art”.
Food is Art is a street food fair that explores the opportunities in the food industry, showcasing the business behind the business of food and exposing entrepreneurs and SMEs to the amazing opportunities in the food industry.
A major focus for Food is Art, is the art of food photography which is growing into a major industry, opening up the economy and providing SMEs and entrepreneurs in the food and food photography business exposure and a platform for growth and expansion.
Activities for the event are split into two phases; an online competition and the event.
FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY ONLINE COMPETITION (ONGOING)
To kick start the pre event engagement, there will be an online Food photography competition, where Audience are drawn in to participate in a Food photography competition online (@firstbanknigeria) tagged “Share a food art photo using popular Nigeria street food”
After careful selection by highest likes on line and the Panelists choice, at the event, the top 5 will be required to work in teams in creating their own Food Art, photography it and share the photos for the participants to vote on, the top 5 finalists with the highest vote is declared the winner at the event.
THE ART OF FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY + STREET FOOD FAIR
There will be a street food fair with over 40 food vendors exhibiting and selling more than 20 different Nigerian street foods at the event.
Other sessions include;
2. The Art of Food Photography workshop with Kelechi Amadi-Obi, a Nigerian prolific lifestyle Photographer
3. A Practical Class on Food Art with Haneefah Adam, a renowned Food Artist and blogger
4. Basic Cooking classes for Kids with Dobbys Signature, popular food recipe creator and blogger
